Memphis Grizzlies Waiving Important Starter

The Memphis Grizzlies are waiving one of their starters.

When the Memphis Grizzlies desperately needed a big man after it was revealed Steven Adams was going to miss the season, Bismack Biyombo answered that call. Now, it looks as though Biyombo's time with the franchise is coming to an end.

While Biyombo's numbers don't stand off the page, he's definitely been an importnat player for the Grizzlies. He started in 27 out of the 30 games for the franchise, averaging 5.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks on 56% shooting. Just a few games ago against the Lakers, Biyombo was a +17 when he put 6 points and 10 rebounds on 100% shooting. His biggest game was against the LA Clipper when he was a +20 and put up 13 points and 12 rebounds on 83% shooting.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the Grizzlies would be waiving Biyombo in a tweet, but also revealed that he could be brought back to the team. Here is the exact excerpt from Wojnarowski:

"The Grizzlies are waiving center Bismack Biyombo, sources tell ESPN. He made a good impact with franchise and could be brought back again. Memphis is expected to add another big on a newly available two-way contract."

It's been an incredibly rough season for the Memphis Grizzlies, but they've somehow found a way to keep surviving. That doesn't happen without players like Bismack Biyombo.
