While the Memphis Grizzlies are well represented in the 2023 FIBA World Cup with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama, their star point guard Ja Morant is not a member of Team USA. During a recent episode of Showtime Basketball's KG Certified, NBA legend Paul Pierce spoke about this, and said Morant needs to change the narrative on himself.

"He's not on the USA team," Pierce said of Morant. "He's one of the top-10, top-15 players in the world, and he's not on the USA team. And probably rightfully so. But I'm looking for him to reestablish who he is on and off the court, because I think he has the most to show and the most to prove."

While it's unclear if Morant was left off Team USA or opted not to compete, Pierce believes the Grizzlies star needs to change the narrative about himself. As of right now, people often discuss everything but basketball when Morant's name comes up, which is something Pierce would like to see change. One of the best players in the NBA, Morant has an opportunity to put his struggles off the court behind him, and reestablish himself as the positive figure he can be.

Morant has a lot of people rooting for him, and has a great opportunity to get back on track next season.
