On July 1, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard decided he was ready to chase an NBA championship, resulting in a trade request to the Miami Heat.

Since, a multitude of events have occurred but there has been little negotiation between teams. Today marks 50 days since Lillard officially requested a trade.

Here’s a timeline of major events that have occurred during this time:

July 2: The Blazers are reportedly not cooperating with his request to be moved to the Heat.

July 3: It is reported that Portland’s front office is seeking offers around the league.

July 4: The Trail Blazers are not impressed with Miami’s offer, adding that they have no interest in former Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro.

July 6: Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, sends a message to the rest of the NBA warning them against trading for him.

July 15: Teams including the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors begin showing interest in acquiring Herro while helping facilitate a three-team deal.

July 28: Talks die down for a while before the NBA sends a memo to all 30 teams threatening disciplinary action against Lillard and his agent.

Aug. 1: The Heat reportedly increased their offer for Lillard after Portland showed a lack of interest in the original package.

Aug. 5: All-Star center Bam Adebayo says he and Lillard "have a connection."

Aug. 7: Lillard takes a potential shot at the Blazers, quoting J. Cole’s song lyrics.

Aug. 19: Lillard uses social media to send potential signs of a trade, unfollowing the Blazers official account and following Heat legend Udonis Haslem.
