Dwyane Wade's Touching Moment After Last Game Versus Kobe Bryant
Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant were fierce competitors throughout their careers.
No moment showed they kept their battles strictly on the court than when they last faced each other when Bryant retired in 2016. Wade interrupted Bryant's postgame interview by saying, "He's [Bryant] gotta go. We got some business to talk about."
Wade was rushing Bryant because they had a dinner scheduled after the game. The video resurfaced the day Wade joins Bryant in the Hall of Fame.
Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter crash in 2020, used the moment to praise his friend and counterpart.
"I love him," Bryant said of Wade. "He was a vicious competitor. He's vicious, he's mean. We could have those type of battles then afterwards hang out, have a conversation, lace 'em up, and go right back at it. I enjoyed competing against him. The hardest player I had to guard in screen and roll. He'd come off a screen and disappear."
Wade was among the most emotional after Bryant's death. His embrace with Allen Iverson during Bryant's tribute at Staples Center was felt around the world.
"Today is one of the saddest days of my lifetime," Wade said in a social media post. "It seems like a bad dream that you just want to wake up from. It's a nightmare."
