ESPN's Jay Williams Thinks Jimmy Butler is Better In The Clutch Than Jayson Tatum
Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler and the Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum have arguably the top two individual games this postseason.
Butler had 56 points to close out the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 in the first round. Tatum scored 51 in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Now, they meet in the conference finals for a third time in four years, with each having led their teams to victory once in the series. The question is this: which player is better in the big moments?
It's a decision that could go either way but ESPN's Jay Williams recently gave his reasoning for choosing Butler.
"I love the upside for Jayson Tatum," Williams said on Get Up. "When I watched Game 7 or the fourth quarter of Game 6, there's like a Kobe (Bryant) aspect to him offensively that I love. But if you're asking who I trust in the bigger, grittier moments, I'm going to take Jimmy Butler."
Butler was a finalist for the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year award, which was won by Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox. Butler has also earned a better reputation because he's done more with less. The Celtics are considered the more talented team and the overwhelming favorite in the series.
