Former Miami Heat forward Max Strus is suiting up for the Cleveland Cavaliers next season and looks ready to continue his breakout.

A video shared by user Pete Matthews via Instagram Story has been going viral of Strus during a Cavaliers’ scrimmage. The All-Star backcourt of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland swing the ball to Strus, who drives in and dunks on Jarrett Allen, one of the league’s premier interior defenders.

This offseason, Strus signed a four-year, $63 million contract with the Cavaliers following his breakout year. Last season, he averaged 11.5 points and 3.2 rebounds on 41.0 percent shooting from the field and 35.0 percent from beyond the arc. Not to mention, he was a pivotal piece in the Heat’s historic Finals run, starting in all 23 games.

Strus should be expected to win the starting spot over the likes of Caris LeVert and Isaac Okoro due to Cleveland’s lack of perimeter shooting. He will provide much-needed spacing for a team looking to compete for a championship while having a noticeably larger role in the offense.

Signing him to such a sizable contract shows the Cavaliers faith in him continuing to improve.
