Joining Miami Heat Would Keep Damian Lillard Out Of James Harden-Luka Doncic Discussion

Damian Lillard has put up empty numbers in Portland most of his career but would compete for a title with Miami Heat

Former NBA players Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala recently had a discussion on their "Point Forward" about James Harden and Luka Doncic putting up big numbers without championship rings.

They might as well have included Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard because he is in the same category. That is why it is so important for Lillard to get out of Portland.

So much could change if he joins the Miami Heat this season. It would give the opportunity to legitimately compete for a championship for the first time in his career. The only time Lillard came close was when they were swept by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals.

They have missed the playoffs the last seasons and bounced out of the first round in four of their last five appearances. Lillard instantly leaves the Doncic-Harden if the Heat and Trail Blazers can strike a deal.

Another year in Portland for Lillard means he may be the next subject on the Iguodala and Turner podcast.
