LeBron James Salutes Dwyane Wade With Robbins, Illinois Reference From Iconic Ad

LeBron James uses line from Converse commercial to pay respect to Dwyane Wade entering Hall of Fame

LeBron James often uses the term "I'm just a kid from Akron" to describe his success on and off the basketball court.

So it's only fitting he used a similar saying when congratulating former teammate and close friend Dwyane Wade entering the Hall of Fame today in Springfield, Mass.

Wade is set to become the first Heat-drafted player to earn the distinction. James and Wade were teammates in Miami from 2010-14, winning titles in 2012 and 2013. Wade is generally regarded as James' best teammate.

Hours before the induction, James took to Instagram to congratulate his buddy.

"Today is the official day my brother @dwyanewade goes into the HOF!!!!!," James wrote. "WOW WOW WOW bro!! Man I can’t say enough how proud and happy I am of/for you. The kid from Robbins, IL now in the HALL!!! You a bad man Trey Ball! SCREAMING 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️CONGRATULATIONS ⚡️. Love you kid!! 🙏🏾✊🏾🤎🫡👑 #WadeCounty⚡️"

The Robbins, Ill., reference was a play off Wade's 2009 Converse commercial. He gives a shout out to his hometown just outside Chicago by announcing where he's from before introducing himself in the Heat starting lineup.

It became one of the most iconic Wade advertisement for Heat fans.
