Miami Heat Fans Call For Anthony Edwards After Superstar Performance Against Germany

Miami Heat fans flood social media with calls for Anthony Edwards after impressive display at FIBA exhibition game.

The biggest name circulating Miami Heat trade rumors is Damian Lillard.

But one player the fanbase also called for is Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards. These pleas transpired after Edwards’ 34-point performance in Team USA’s comeback victory against Germany.

Edwards’ connection with the Heat started when he was spotted chatting with coach Erik Spoelstra. His play style has also drawn comparisons to Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

Are we hearing a new Big Three with him, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo? Social media ran with Edwards’ interaction with Spoelstra, and they’re back entertaining this scenario again.

Edwards could benefit the Heat by giving them another high-level scorer. Miami was last during the regular season in points (109.5) and near the bottom in field goal percentage (46 percent).

He’s had some problematic incidents but largely diverts drama. Edwards’ offensive production, paired with his personality and mentality, would mesh perfectly with Butler.

But let’s be honest. Minnesota is unlikely to trade their franchise star for…whatever the Heat have to offer. The Heat probably don’t have a trade package the Timberwolves would entertain. Besides, Miami’s focus is solely on getting Lillard to start their fourth championship run.

Still, it doesn’t hurt to entertain the idea.
