Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo On The Brooklyn Nets: `It's A Whole Different Team Now'

The Brooklyn Nets went from Eastern Conference contenders to just trying to find their way

At one point, the Brooklyn Nets were near the top of the NBA.

They had a 12-game winning streak before things changed against the Miami Heat Jan. 8. The Nets won but lost Kevin Durant indefinitely to a knee injury that was followed by losing nine of 14 games.

It led to All-Stars Durant and Kyrie Irving departing via trade, leaving the Nets in limbo entering Wednesday's rematch against the Heat. So much has changed in those six weeks.

The Heat have regrouped while the Nets are sort of rebuilding. The Nets still hold 1.5-game lead over the Heat in the Eastern Conference standings but for how long?

"So, the challenges are ahead of us," Nets coach Jacque Vaughn said. "We'll look them head on. We'll figure it out. We have the personnel to figure it out.

The Nets replaced Irving and Durant with Spencer Dinwiddie, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith, hardly the star-studded lineup they had before.

Still, the Heat refuse to take them lightly.

"This league changes every year, every trade deadline, every summer," Heat center Bam Adebayo said. "So you just got to constantly watch basketball and just see how teams work. I think they've been together for a week now. You've got to get used to how they play now. It's a whole different team now. It's a whole different style of play for them."
