Lakers Injury Report: Anthony Davis Final Status Revealed for Wednesday's Game vs Rockets
The Los Angeles Lakers are taking on the 3-3 Houston Rockets on Wednesday evening, and they will be without star big man Anthony Davis.
Davis, who was listed as questionable to play all day with his hip spasms, has officially been ruled out for Wednesday's contest, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
Backup big man Jaxson Hayes was also ruled out for Wednesday's game with his left ankle sprain, so the Lakers will be extremely shorthanded in the frontcourt.
The only positive news that came today for the Lakers was the fact that Rui Hachimura was upgraded to available, meaning the Lakers are at least going to have some of their depth against Houston.
But, the team will still be without Davis, Hayes, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jalen Hood-Schifino, meaning they will be extremely shorthanded against Houston.
Davis told reporters earlier today that his hip felt better. But clearly, it wasn't good enough for him to play.
It'll be interesting to see what the Lakers' lineup looks like in Wednesday's game. Christian Wood may slide in as the starting center.
Hopefully AD is able to get back on the court as soon as possible, especially as the Lakers get set for their first In-Season Tournament game against the Phoenix Suns on Friday — who are suddenly extremely healthy.
