Lakers News: Karl-Anthony Towns Status Finalized for Timberwolves Ahead of Play-In Game

Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns was initially listed as "questionable" to play against the Lakers in Tuesday's Play-In Tournament game. He's continuing to deal with the right calf strain that cost him much of this season.
However, that was clearly just a formality, as the final injury report is in and, much to the surprise of no one, Towns is good to go and will be in the Timberwolves' starting lineup.

This is obviously a boost for the Timberwolves, who are already playing without Rudy Gobert (suspension), Jaden McDaniels (fractured hand) and Naz Reid (broken wrist).
Without Towns, it would have all been on star Anthony Edwards to carry the load — but now, he'll have his All-Star running mate.

The Lakers are still heavily favored in this game, and rightfully so. Even with Towns, the Lakers have more than enough star power to take down Minnesota. However, if Towns didn't play, this game spread would have completely gone off the rails.
Tip off for Tuesday's game is at 7:00 p.m. PT. The stakes couldn't be higher, as the winner of this game plays the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and the loser goes to a win-or-go-home game against the winner of the 9 vs. 10 seeded play-in game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder.
