Lakers News: Timeline Established For NBA To Add Expansion Teams, With LeBron James Eyeing Ownership
It seems like all the dominos are falling perfectly and the timelines is all coming together for Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James to take just a couple of years off after his NBA career comes to an end to return to the league... but this time as an owner. James has made it very clear over the past couple of years that this is his next dream after he hangs up his shoes for the last time and he already reveled that this past season was not his last.
But reports have been spiraling for some time that he hopes to own a new expansion team in the city of Las Vegas and it's pretty crazy to think that not too long after Michael Jordan essentially gave up on being an NBA franchise owner himself by selling the Charlotte Hornets, James will be in position to take on that role for a different team.
The NBA already has majority of their fanbase mulling over how their in-season tournament will fare this year and throw in the fact that the Final Four teams will face off in Las Vegas, they certainly want their audience to get used to games being played there even after the annual Summer League.
And ESPN's Brian Windhorst has confirmed that multiple potential investors are quite intrigued by this growing plan of a new team in Vegas with The King being an important one.
“I can already tell you that there are multiple groups that are preparing to buy this expansion team in Las Vegas, that I know about. Much less what I don’t know about. And LeBron [James] has also—not very veiled—indicated that he would like to be a part of the franchise in Vegas.”

With the Aces and Raiders already having their own fanbases in Las Vegas, a professional NBA squad would do wonders for the city and basketball community.
