New Lakers Role Player Has Title Hopes For Los Angeles In 2024

Can he be a key contributor this season?
In this story:

After your Los Angeles Lakers were sent packing in the Western Conference Finals, General Manager Rob Pelinka knew what he needed to do. The team saw some major success with their core of players so he wanted to make sure to keep them together.

He did that and more, resigning all the key free agents but he also upgraded the team around the edges as well. It should give the Lakers a better chance next season assuming health stay on their side.

One of the bigger signings for the team was them grabbing former Miami Heat point guard Gabe Vincent on a three-year deal. Vincent had just come off a strong performance in the postseason, helping the Heat reach the NBA Finals as an eighth seed.

But looking ahead, Vincent came to the Lakers for one reason and that was to win a title.

“They wanted me to be a part of this team,” Vincent said. “They said they wanted to win. They think I can help do that. I think I can help do that as well. I’m looking forward to having the opportunities to do so.”

Per The OC Register

Vincent has a strong ability to play both on and off the ball which should help the team when he's on the court with star LeBron James. He also can knock down three-point shots at a good rate and is strong defensively so it makes sense why the Lakers targeted him.

“I’m just here to add on,” Vincent said. “They have a great core, a great situation, and hopefully I can just add to it and help us bring home a championship.”.

Per The OC Register

If Vincent plays his role effectively and the Lakers have health, they should be one of the favorites to win it all. This team is extremely deep and has the ability to be versatile with different lineup construction depending on who they are facing.

LA has aa great chance to win it all next season and like always, it all starts from a strong offseason build.
