Lakers News: Key LA Personnel Attend Summer League Win Against Hornets

They got to see a great performance by the Lake Show!

The NBA Summer League is in the full swing of things and this is the best part of the summer.

Your Los Angeles Lakers went 0-2 in their games at the California Classic in Sacramento, but since the games moved over to Las Vegas, the team has played much better and is 2-0. Their game Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets showed a more dominant Lakers team and they had some familiar faces in the crowd watching them

Both general manager Rob Pelinka and new Lakers point guard Gabe Vincent were in attendance for the game. Vincent has been to a few games this summer since joining LA, which is really cool to see. I'm sure the support of both Pelinka and Vincent meant a lot to the young Lakers and they rewarded them with a great game.

LA went on to beat the Hornets by a score of 93-75. They had multiple players score in double figures, with the most impressive game coming from two-way center Colin Castleton. Castleton finished the game with 21 points, 14 rebounds and three assists. He continues to have a strong presence at the summer league and is making a potential case to be given a spot in the Lakers rotation this season.

Having a strong game like this in front of Pelinka can't hurt either and the center out of the University of Florida has shown that he has a NBA ready game in his skillset. He has a soft touch around the basket and has shown great willingness to play defense, blocking four shots in the teams second summer league game.

Lakers star LeBron James even got in on the fun, retweeting a highlight from the official Lakers account. The rookies were going off and James clearly was a fan of the game. This may be even more proof that James won't actually be retiring this offseason.

All in all it was a great game for the Lakers and it shows the continued growth of this team. They continue their summer league games next Wednesday June 12 as they face off against the rival Boston Celtics.
