Reporter Believes Lakers, Warriors May Not Have Enough To Beat Denver In Future

Can LA take down Denver next season?
In this story:

After four games against the Denver Nuggets, it was clear that they were the better team compared to the Los Angeles Lakers. Denver earned the series win and proceeded to go win the NBA title. However, let's not act like the Nuggets steamrolled over Los Angeles. LA has chances to win every game but just couldn't make the big play when needed. That's a credit to Denver on some level but heading into next season, the Lakers seem like real players for the Western Conference crown.

Yet, some don't see it that way. ESPN analyst Alan Hahn seems to believe that going forward both the Lakers and Golden State Warriors won't be able to contend with the Nuggets.

To me, this seems reactionary to the way the Nuggets beat the Lakers. As mentioned, Los Angeles had their chances in every game and fought Denver pretty well. The Lakers were gassed from the stress of the regular season and star LeBron James was playing with a torn tendon in his right foot. He clearly didn't have the same level of energy or bounce as normal due to it. I won't make excuses since James was playing but to act like that didn't factor into things would be wrong.

We don't even know what the rosters will look like next season and the Lakers could very well take down Denver. Same with Golden State if they retain their core players. Denver is very good and are the rightful champions but let's not overreact.

Every year in the NBA when a new team wins the NBA title, people like to make claims about them running the league going forward. It's like clockwork and it's happening again with the Denver Nuggets. Remember two years ago when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks won and people said they would dominant for years? Well they haven't made it past the second round since winning the title.

Maybe Denver does run the league for years but we have no idea what will happen down the line. Both the Lakers and Warriors will be major players next season and to think otherwise would be foolish.
