Orlando Magic 'Has to be Better,' Says Cole Anthony

The Orlando Magic has had a strong start to its season, but how the team deals with adversity could make or break this team.

Heading into its game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, the Orlando Magic was 4-2 and feeling good. But the young Magic roster wasn't enough to beat Luka Dončić and the rest of the Mavericks.

The Magic went down 117-102 as a result of some great play from the Mavericks stars, as well as some sloppy play by the Magic. The team finished with 21 turnovers over the course of the game, many of them coming at key times.

These mistakes in key moments can be attributed to how young the roster of the Magic is and how much experience they all have yet to gain. Point guard Cole Anthony talked about how the mistakes came about in his postgame conference.

"I think we kind of got frustrated with ourselves," Anthony said. "We kind of saw them get a little bit of a lead and we saw a few possessions where it didn't go our way whether it was a bad call or or what we thought was a bad call. We had a missed shot and I think we let that affect us on both ends on the court. And we can't let that happen. We've got to be better."

All of the young players on the Magic gaining experience and limiting mistakes in key moments will be a big part of the team sustaining its success.

The Magic will get another chance to prove that the team can deal with adversity on Thursday against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Mexico City Game. Tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET from the Arena CDMX.
