'Not an Excuse!': Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley on Injuries
The Orlando Magic could not extend its winning streak to three games, as the team lost a tough one to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Part of the Magic's struggles could be attributed to how many injuries the team is dealing with at the moment.
The Magic has had to deal with injuries to key contributors all year, but the team has still been able to perform. Most notable are Wendell Carter Jr. and Markelle Fultz, who have both missed over 20 games this season. But despite the undeniable effect that injuries are having on the team, head coach Jamahl Mosley does not want them to be blamed for everything.
"It does take its toll but it's not an excuse," Mosley said after the team's loss to the Timberwolves. "Guys aren't looking for excuses but again, we'll be better coming out against Miami."
Magic Taking Slow Approach to PG Fultz's Return From Injury
The Magic were without a number of its key contributors in the loss, including Carter Jr. and Franz Wagner. On top of that, Cole Anthony, the team's spark off the bench so far this season, tweaked his right thigh in the loss. Even though the Magic could blame injuries, as it is dealing with a lot of them right now, Mosley and the rest of the team are determined to not let these injuries define them.
The Magic will be looking to bounce back in its next game on Friday against another team that has had its fair share of injuries, the Miami Heat. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET in the Kaseya Center.
