ORLANDO - You could say Orlando Magic wing Admiral Schofield is enjoying his All-Star Break.

According to ESPN, the Magic is converting Schofield's two-way deal into a standard contract that has him signed through the 2023-24 season.

In a corresponding move, the Magic waived R.J. Hampton to maintain roster flexibility, according to Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel.

Schofield, 25, has played 27 games for the Magic this season, averaging 4.7 points per game.

With Orlando buying out Terrence Ross and Patrick Beverley, the Magic had a pair of open roster spots to work with. The first open spot was used to sign former Indiana Pacers center Goga Bitadze, and now the second is occupied by Schofield.

While Schofield isn't the biggest or best player on the team, he's a very popular guy in the locker room and is viewed as a hard worker.

He most recently played for the Magic on Jan. 28 against the Chicago Bulls where he entered the game in an apparent blowout, but was part of the unit that brought Orlando back in the contest.

"He's been an unbelievable professional the entire time no matter whether he's playing or not playing," Mosley said after the Jan. 28 game. "His energy, his voice, his presence within our locker room. He's a young man that demands and commands respect and he works his tail off every single day."

Schofield and the Magic return from the All-Star Break Thursday at home against the Detroit Pistons.
