A former member of the Houston Rockets Las Vegas Summer League squad is sticking around in the NBA.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Denver Nuggets are signing Jay Huff to a two-way contract.

Huff, who turns 26 later this month, appeared in the first two Rockets' Summer League games, but was shut down after finding an agreement with a different team. That team turned out to be the defending champion Nuggets.

Huff is known for his defense, leading the G League in blocks last season en route to being named the league's Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-NBA G League First Team.

Huff has 11 games of NBA experience under his belt, four with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021-22 campaign and seven with the Washington Wizards last season.

Huff also has championship experience from college as part of the 2019 NCAA champion Virginia Cavaliers. Now, he'll look to join a Nuggets team looking to repeat as NBA champions.

Huff could look to be a defensive backup for two-time MVP Nikola Jokic and could give Denver some depth at the center position.
