LeBron James Injury Update: Will Lakers Star Play vs. Spurs, Victor Wembanyama?

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is facing some injury questions ahead of Friday's meeting with Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

After taking on the Sacramento Kings tonight at Golden 1 Center, the San Antonio Spurs will continue their Rodeo Road Trip on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers at crypto.com Arena, but there's some injury questions that need to be answered.

Lakers star LeBron James is out for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center due to a left ankle injury. His status for Friday's meeting with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs appeared up in the air, but NBA insider Chris Haynes provided a positive injury update a few hours prior to Thursday's tip-off in San Francisco.

"As of right now, I'm told that he is expected to play tomorrow against the San Antonio Spurs back in L.A. ... Right now it's just a precaution," Haynes said.

Haynes said that James felt it was his "obligation" to the fans to play in the All-Star Game this past Sunday instead of using that time to rest up.

James has missed seven games this season. At age 39, he's averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists in 34.9 minutes per game.
