Kevin Garnett calls Jordan Poole “new James Harden”
Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma are already forming a dynamic duo in Washington. They’re both young, witty, full of swag, and confident in their game. They’ve become the Wizards newest tandem but Poole and Kuzma are well aware they haven’t hit the tip of the iceberg in their careers.
The Wizards duo recently caught the eye of NBA legend Kevin Garnett who made some bold statements about Kuzma and Poole on an episode of “KG Certified.”
“This dynamic, this little duo, is the new duo in the league, Garnett said. “Not only do these two have that showmanship in them, I think Jordan Poole feels like he’s been held back. That’s how I thought James Harden felt when he came out of OKC. James Harden came out of OKC like yeah, ya’ll ain’t seen this.”
Prior to making a move to the Wizards, Poole was coming off a rough season with the Golden State Warriors. He could not escape the chatter surrounding his alternation with teammate Draymond Green. Poole needed a change of scenery and Garnett expects him to unleash the talent that never fully came to fruition with the Warriors.

“Jordan Poole feel like yeah, they done had me in the basement,” Garnett continued. “You know what I’m saying? I was their screaming eagle in the back they didn’t want to unpackage and open me up. They ain’t even want to let me ferment.”
“I look for Jordan Poole to be top five in scoring this year. And if he don’t shoot more than 25 balls, I’ll be shocked. And if he don’t have not one, but a couple 60 balls this year, I will be shocked,” Garnett predicted.
If this ends up being the case, the Wizards will be very pleased with their investment.
