CINCINNATI — The Bengals' first-team defense is expected to play one series on Friday night against the Falcons.

Will their starters on offense play?

We know Joe Burrow is out with a calf strain. Will Ja'Marr Chase, Orlando Brown Jr., Tee Higgins or the rest of the starters get any snaps?

It sounds like head coach Zac Taylor is going to be cautious with his first-team offense. The plan is to rest the starters on offense, league sources tell All Bengals.

As nice as it would be to get Chase, Higgins, Jonah Williams or any of the other starters reps together, it would also be a risk—especially without Burrow on the field.

Trevor Siemian is expected to start at quarterback. Jake Browning will play in the second half. Neither guy will throw to the top weapons, which means young players like Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones will get a chance to show what they can do.

It's also an opportunity for Jackson Carman to rebound after a disappointing season opener.
