Charlie Jones Dives Into His Work Ethic: 'Something That I've Always Done'

Jones is ready to make an impact during his rookie season.

CINCINNATI — Bengals rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones has been grinding at the Bengals facility whenever he can this offseason to be fully prepared for his first NFL campaign.

He discussed why he's been putting in so much work with James Rapien.

"I think that's something that I've always done," Jones said. "I think that's what gives me confidence to go out on the field when you know I put in time and I do the work that's just kinda the way I operate. I got a lot of things that I want to get done. A lot of new things that I needed to learn. So you got to put the time in if you want to get those things on the field."

Cincinnati selected Jones in the fourth round, and he could have an instant impact as a punt returner. He'll have to beat out incumbent trusty returner Trent Taylor to win that job.

"There's always something to get better at," Jones said about returning punts. "Learning from guys like Trent Taylor and everyone else that's in that room. Still more to learn and you know, I'm just coming out there got a lot of things that you do naturally, but there's a lot of things that you know, I can get better at. So I'm trying to take one thing out to practice every day and get better at it."
