Cincinnati Selects Amarius Mims, Ladd McConkey in Opening Two Rounds of The Athletic's Mock Draft

The Bengals holds the 18th and 49th selections this year.

CINCINNATI — The Athletic's Dan Brugler has the Bengals taking two Georgia players with their opening pair of picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

We start with offensive tackle Amarius Mims at Pick 18, who is the consensus 17th-ranked player overall and fourth-best offensive tackle.

"Mims could be drafted top 10 or fall out of the top 20, and neither outcome would be overly surprising," Brugler wrote. "The former five-star recruit has only eight starts to his name, but his limited tape is intriguing. He has an unbelievable combination of size, strength, and movement skills. Ideally, the Bengals would want a more established prospect, but Mims’ talent might be too good to pass up."

Cincinnati stayed on offense with wide receiver Ladd McConkey at Pick 49. He is the 50th-best player on the consensus big board and the 10th-best wide receiver.

"The Bengals go all-Georgia in the first two rounds," Brugler wrote. "The trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Higgins, and Tyler Boyd has likely played its final game together, but adding an inside-outside talent like McConkey would ease the transition."

McConkey caught 30 passes for 478 yards and two touchdowns this past season.
