CINCINNATI — The Bengals signed linebacker Logan Wilson to a four-year extension worth up to $37.25 million on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old was all smiles during his news conference on Sunday. He said he was always hoping to stay in Cincinnati.

"One of the biggest reasons why I didn't want to leave was being apart of the turnaround that we've had here and not wanting to leave what we've kind of started," Wilson said

The Bengals picked him with the 65th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He's appeared in 40 games and racked up 256 tackles in his first three seasons.

Wilson also praised head coach Zac Taylor.

"One of the biggest reasons was I wanted to keep playing for coach Taylor. He’s such a players’ coach. He takes care of us like no other team probably does," Wilson said. "Guys recover better because of that. He takes care of us if you’re injured. All these different things that go into it. He’s awesome. He’s just been tremendous to play for. And there’s no other coach I wanted to play for at the end.

Wilson is under contract through the 2027 season. He's a core piece of Cincinnati's defense for the foreseeable future.

The Bengals now have Trey Hendrickson, Sam Hubbard, Germaine Pratt and Wilson under contract for the next three seasons.
