The 33rd Team Power Ranks Joe Burrow Outside NFL's Top-Five Quarterbacks
CINCINNATI — The 33rd Team's Derrik Klassen released a head-scratching power ranking of all 32 NFL starting quarterbacks entering the offseason: Bengals passer Joe Burrow slotted into the ninth spot on the list, behind names like 2023 Rookie of the Year CJ Stroud and Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
“Joe Burrow’s injury-plagued 2023 season makes him difficult to place,” Klassen wrote. “We only got the best version of Burrow for a few weeks before he was out for the year with a thumb injury. However, Burrow is one of the best and most dynamic quarterbacks at his best. Burrow is a wonderful pre-snap processor with more than enough athletic ability and creativity to make plays outside the pocket. He is also as accurate as anybody at all levels of the field.
“I still have minor reservations about some of the limitations Burrow places on an offense, particularly with playing under center and throwing over the middle. Still, I believe he will continue to grow as a player and fill out those areas of his game.”
Burrow's health is obviously holding him back here, having completed just half of his NFL seasons so far, but ninth is a major fall from 2023.
Burrow ranked second in last year's Quarterback Tiers from The Athletic's Mike Sando (he earned 49/50 possible tier-one votes, only Patrick Mahomes swept the 50 votes).
He can start working back into this top-five in September.
