Zac Taylor on Chidobe Awuzie's Injury Return: 'He's so Close'
CINCINNATI — The Bengals left injured players in Cincinnati while traveling to face Atlanta, except one: Chidobe Awuzie.
Head coach Zac Taylor noted the cornerback's "close" to returning from his season-ending knee injury suffered last Halloween.
"We didn't bring any injured guys other than Chido because Chido gets a chance to get some work," Taylor said after the 13-13 tie. "He's so close and coming off his injury, but other than that we just left all the injured guys behind."
Awuzie has been slowly integrating himself back into football activities as he awaits the green light for full participation. A return to form plus all the extra reps for a rookie like D.J. Turner can't hurt a secondary going through turnover.
