Bengals Pass on Emmanuel Forbes in Favor of Jahmyr Gibbs in Latest Mock Draft
CINCINNATI — Emmanuel Forbes is a popular candidate to be the Bengals' first round pick on Thursday night. Cincinnati has the 28th overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Mississippi State cornerback had 14 interceptions, returning six for touchdowns (FBS Record).
If he isn't available, the Bengals could take another cornerback or maybe even a defensive linemen.
Charles Davis of NFL Network has Cincinnati passing on Forbes and taking Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 28th overall pick.
"The Bengals lost dependable running back Samaje Perine to Denver and are seemingly always on the lookout for explosive playmakers, which leads them to Gibbs, who reminds many of Saints runner Alvin Kamara," Davis wrote. "Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes makes a lot of sense here, too."
It would be surprising if the Bengals passed on Forbes for Gibbs, but there is a scenario where Cincinnati does add the explosive playmaker to their offense.
Gibbs is who we mocked to the Bengals the first round of our seven round mock draft. Check out all seven picks here.
