Zac Taylor on Talks With Jonah Williams: 'I'll Keep All That Stuff Private'

Williams requested a trade last month.

CINCINNATI — Zac Taylor updated the state of the right tackle position with the media on Monday. He did not want to give details about his discussions with tackle Jonah Williams.

"I'll keep all that stuff private about conversations with our players," Taylor said.

Williams requested a trade last month when the Bengals officially signed Orlando Brown Jr. to replace him at left tackle.

One candidate who's competing at the right tackle spot is third-year player Jackson Carman. Taylor did dive into his outlook.

"Jackson did a really good job working all these positions," Taylor said. "His number was called at left tackle and now his numbers gonna be called at right tackle to go in there and compete. ... We got really high expectations for him. I really liked his approach over the course of last season. I think that he really got a feel for what the NFL is like and what the process is like and so now going into year three, I think it's a great opportunity for him to continue to show us that he's got what it takes to be a full-time starter for us."
