This is a Surprise: Ja'Marr Chase's Madden Rating Lower Than Expected

The Bengals rookie isn't the highest-rated rookie wide receiver.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals selected Ja'Marr Chase with the fifth pick in the 2021 NFL Draft because they think he can be a game changing player on offense. 

The duo of Joe Burrow and Chase dominated the collegiate ranks in 2019, leading LSU to a 15-0 record and a national championship. 

Despite being the first wide receiver taken in the draft, Chase has a lower rating (75 overall) than Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in Madden 22. 

Kyle Pitts (81), Trevor Lawrence (78), Waddle (76) and Patrick Surtain II (76) are all ranked ahead of Chase. 

Zach Wilson, Penei Sewell and DeVonta Smith have the same rating (75). More ratings will be revealed this week.
