Brock Purdy Enters Concussion Protocol Ahead of Matchup Against Cincinnati

The Bengals and 49ers face one another this Sunday.

CINCINNATI — San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Brock Purdy is in concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed the move to reporters as Purdy experienced symptoms on the plane ride back from Minnesota.

NFL teams have not activated a player the following week that's suffered a concussion this season and If Purdy cannot suit up this weekend the 49ers would turn to Sam Darnold with former Bengals quarterback Brandon Allen as the backup.
