Hayden Hurst to be Placed on Injured Reserve Due to Post Traumatic Amnesia Diagnosis

The 30-year-old spent last season in Cincinnati.

CINCINNATI — The Carolina Panthers plan to put former Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst on injured reserve according to Joe Person of The Athletic.. He was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist following a hit he took on Nov. 9.

It's an unfortunate and scary situation. Hurst spent last season in Cincinnati, finishing with 52 receptions for 414 yards and two touchdowns. He signed a 3-year, $21 million contract with Carolina in March.

He had 18 catches for 184 yards and one touchdown for the Panthers this season.

Earlier this month, Hurst expressed interest in returning to the field this season, but that isn't going to happen.

Hurst quickly became a fan favorite in Cincinnati, even though he only spent one season with the Bengals. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and is back on the field soon.
