CINCINNATI — Former Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist according to his father Jerry Hurst.

He took a hit in Chicago on Nov. 9 that caused the injury.

"Slow recovery, don't know when he'll be back," Hurst tweeted. "Prayers appreciated."

Hayden Hurst spent last season in Cincinnati, finishing with 52 receptions for 414 yards and two touchdowns. He signed a 3-year, $21 million contract with the Panthers in March.

He has 18 catches for 184 yards and one score for Carolina this season.

Hurst quickly became a fan favorite in Cincinnati, even though he only spent one season with the Bengals. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and can get back on the field soon.
