Jake Browning Not Getting Caught up in First NFL Victory: 'I'm Used to Winning'
CINCINNATI — Jake Browning is used to winning across his football career and he's not lingering on his first victory as an NFL starter.
The Bengals backup quarterback discussed not being emotional following a 350-plus yard passing performance on great efficiency.
"Surprisingly not," Browning said about being emotional from the win. "I don't know why. ... I think it was partially because it came down the wire and I feel like I play my best football when I'm just calm and you know, not really thinking about anything outside of what is in my control, which is just operating the offense and being calm and delivering the ball."
Browning's played in the Rose Bowl and led prolific high school state championship teams. Now, he has a path to his first NFL playoff run if the Bengals start stacking wins down the stretch.
"We got two games in 12 days," Browning said about moving forward. "So kind of moving quickly. I haven't played a lot of NFL football, but it's not like I'm not used to winning. I can. I've won a lot of games in my career. None of them have been in the NFL until today, which is obviously noteworthy, but I'm used to winning. I've won a lot of football games in my life."
