Joe Burrow Attends Practice, Doesn't Do Much Ahead of Monday Night Football Matchup With Rams

The 26-year-old was at practice on Thursday.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow walked out to practice on Thursday, but he didn't do much when he got out there.

The star quarterback put on his white helmet as he was walking to the Bengals practice fields. A gaggle of reporters were waiting on him.

"Who are you waiting on?" Ted Karras jokingly asked.

Burrow had a sleeve on his entire right leg. He stretched with the team and went through normal center-quarterback exchanges before practice, but didn't throw during the individual period open to media.

Jake Browning and Will Grier took those reps. Burrow stood next to them, chatted with offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and held onto his helmet straps.

"Soreness is an issue right now. So giving him some time is best," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said before practice. "I think we just gotta keep the conversation going every day and see where he’s at."

The Bengals host the Rams on Monday Night Football. They're looking for their first win of the year after starting 0-2 for a second consecutive season.

Last year they rallied to finish 12-4, which included ending the regular season on an 8-game winning streak. Digging out of an 0-2 hole isn't easy and this year they may be forced to do it without the face of their franchise.
