A.J. Green on The Bengals: 'I Just Want That Organization to Win'
CINCINNATI — The Bengals are welcoming team legend A.J. Green back this weekend to be the Ruler of the Jungle as he reunites with the fans and team staff.
Green discussed how much it means to him for things to come full circle after 10 years in Cincinnati.
"We didn't leave on bad terms," Green told Dan Hoard about the end of his Bengals tenure. "It was just every good thing has to end and I understood the business side of football. They took care of me for 10 years and a lot of people don't last 10 years in one spot. So I'm very honored to last that long in one organization and they were the first organization that gave me my chance and they're just great people. The Brown family are great people, man and they handled all my situations, even when I got hurt. It was always out of respect. And, that's the least I can do is come back and be a fan. I just want that organization to win."
Green posted 649 receptions for 9,430 yards and 65 touchdowns in 10 seasons with the Bengals. He's second in team history in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
The Bengals great retired this offseason and is ready to pump up the crowd before a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Ravens on Sunday.
