Joe Burrow Posts Career-Low Passing Total in Browns Loss: 'Just Going to Keep Trucking'
CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow posted one of his worst NFL games on Sunday as nothing really went right for the offense. He passed for a career-low 82 yards on 14-of-31 from the field.
He discussed the outing with the media following a 24-3 season-opening loss in Cleveland.
"Obviously, not up to our standard," Burrow said. "It's not up to my standard, but 16 more, so just going to keep trucking."
Burrow and the offense were clearly affected by the rain throughout the game, but it's not an excuse when Cleveland put up 24 points in the same conditions.
"It's a rep in the elements that you don't get a lot and you live and you learn from it," Burrow said.
Cincinnati will need to learn fast, as they can't expect to own home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs if they start 0-2 with two division losses.
The 1-0 Ravens come to town next Sunday.
"Yeah, nobody's panicking in here guys," Burrow told the media. "Week one doesn't define anybody's season. Obviously, not very good out there. But anybody that watched saw that, but we've been in this spot before we've come back stronger and had great years. So that's what we're going to do."
