Orlando Brown Jr. Not Spotted at Bengals' First Practice After Bye
CINCINNATI — Bengals star left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. wasn't on the field for Monday's practice. It was their first session following the bye week.
Brown is dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in Cincinnati's Week 4 loss to Tennessee. He played through it, but tweaked the injury in the Bengals' Week 6 win over the Seahawks.
Zac Taylor likes to gives his guys as much rest as possible. It's plausible to think that the coaching staff and medical team held Brown out since Tuesday is a regularly scheduled off day. Giving Brown an extra 48 hours of rest makes sense.
The Bengals play the 49ers on Sunday. Having their star left tackle on the field will be crucial to containing a top pass rush that includes Nick Bosa.
UPDATE: Brown says he plans to play against the 49ers and that he is feeling much better. Sounds like he plans to practice on Wednesday.
