Patriots and Bill Belichick Agree to Part Ways

The Bengals will play the Patriots at Paycor Stadium next season.

CINCINNATI — Bill Belichick won't be on the sideline when the Bengals host the Patriots next season. 

After winning six Super Bowls and spending 24 seasons together, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Belichick decided to part ways. He's just 15 wins shy of breaking Don Shula's NFL record for wins (347) as a head coach. 

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss were the first ones to report the news. 

It's unclear what direction the Patriots will go in for their next head coach, but a quarter of the league is searching for a new head coach. There are eight open jobs, including Seattle, Atlanta and Los Angeles.  

There's speculation that Belichick will continue coaching elsewhere, but nothing is official.
