Bills Free Agency Grade: Did Buffalo Pass or Fail?

NFL free agency is a few weeks old, but the Buffalo Bills have been rather quiet.

The Buffalo Bills have enjoyed a rather quiet offseason compared to a year ago.

During last year's free agency frenzy, the Bills made waves by signing All-Pro linebacker Von Miller away from the Los Angeles Rams among a bevy of moves that helped solidify Buffalo's status as a contender. But this year, things haven't been the same.

Sports Illustrated graded all 32 teams' offseason moves so far and granted the Bills a "C+" for their efforts.

"Despite a tight salary cap, the Bills managed to retain a few key players, such as safety Jordan Poyer, and got an extension done with All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano," SI writes. "The Bills still have one of the best rosters in the league, but they have a few openings to fill, including No. 3 receiver behind Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis."

Should the Bills sign a wide receiver like Odell Beckham Jr. to team up with Diggs and Davis, that C+ grade could possibly improve.

Buffalo hasn't made a ton of improvements because there aren't many to make without breaking the bank. The Bills spent last offseason as big buyers with signing Miller, so this offseason is about restoring balance and keeping this team's top players intact.

By re-signing Milano and Poyer, the Bills are doing that. However, if the Bills simply stick to the status quo, it won't result in a Super Bowl win, which means some type of change this offseason is necessary.
