Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen Now MVP Favorite After Career Day vs. Miami Dolphins

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has never won an MVP award, but if he keeps playing like he did against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, that is bound to change.

Oh how much can change in just a short time.

Just a few weeks ago, Buffalo Bills quarterback was the subject of heavy criticism after a four-turnover game in a season-opening loss to the New York Jets. That criticism was somewhat warranted, as those turnovers helped keep the Jets in the game with their anemic offense, but the claims of Allen's demise always seemed over exaggerated.

Since then, Allen has proved those doubters wrong and played simply outstanding football. In his last three games, Allen has completed 76.6 percent of his passes for 812 yards, eight touchdowns and only one interception, along with two more scores on the. ground. His hot streak reached a peak in Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins, as he posted the first perfect quarterback rating of his career to lead the Bills to a blowout win.

After a streak of strong performances, the national narrative surrounding Allen has flipped on its head. In fact, Allen is now the betting favorite to win the league's MVP award at -350, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

The players with the next-best odds to win the award are Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, both at +500, as well as Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts at +800. All other players have odds longer than 10-1.

Allen has yet to win MVP, or any other major awards, but he has come very close. In 2020, he finished second in voting behind then-Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, albeit a distant second. Then last season, he finished third in voting only behind Mahomes and Hurts.

There's still plenty of football left to play, but if Allen can keep his hot streak going, he could have a new trophy to start his collection.
