Josh Allen 'Perfect' in Buffalo Bills' Blowout Win Over Miami Dolphins

When the Buffalo Bills needed him most, quarterback Josh Allen delivered one of the best performances of his career in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Buffalo Bills tend to go as star quarterback Josh Allen does, often for the better, but occasionally for the worse.

So when the red-hot Miami Dolphins, who just scored 70 points a week earlier, came to town on Sunday, the Bills needed their star quarterback to be at his best for a potential shootout. Not only did Allen deliver when the team needed him, leading the team to a blowout 48-20 win, he had arguably the best game of his NFL career.

When the dust settled, Allen had completed 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards and four scores, plus another touchdown on the ground, all while avoiding turnovers completely. He finished the game with a "perfect" quarterback rating of 158.3, marking the first time in his career he has achieved such a feat. His previous best quarterback rating of 157.6 came in the Bills' 2021 playoff win over the New England Patriots, when he had an eerily similar stat line to boot.

The scariest part? Allen believes he and the offense still have plenty of room for improvement.

"I still think we have more," Allen told reporters after the game. "We're gonna have to learn a lot from this tape and find ways to get better, but we left a lot out there and, you know, we're all focused on correcting those things."

Based on the past few years, Allen may be right about Buffalo's offense having another gear. While the Bills' 48 points on Sunday are tied for the most in the Allen era, their 414 yards aren't even close to their best. The most yards the Bills have ever had under Allen is 552, which came in last season's 38-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With Allen having such a good day, it only makes sense that his favorite target in receiver Stefon Diggs did as well. The dynamic duo connected six times for 120 yards and three touchdowns, which ties Diggs' career-high. Allen and Diggs were very in sync on Sunday, and going forward, that's the connection they want to strive for.

"Being on the same page as Josh is crucial, especially in the red zone," Diggs said after the game.

Allen had a tough start to the season, but has played very well ever since. After Sunday's performance, it's safe to say that those concerns are now behind him.
