Miami Dolphins Preparing For 'Hostile' Buffalo Bills Crowd
Highmark Stadium is always rocking when the Buffalo Bills are in town, but should be especially loud on Sunday.
The reason why is simple: Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins is shaping up to be a massive one. Any divisional game has big implications, but this game will determine who takes control of the AFC East early in the season. With Buffalo's sturdy defensee going against Miami's explosive offense, this game looks to be the best of Week 4.
It's safe to say that Bills Mafia will be out in full force on Sunday, and the Dolphins know this. Ahead of their trip to Buffalo, Miami players spoke about the struggles that come with playing in front of a raucous crowd.
"Yeah, it’s very hostile. It’s very hostile," Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said. "Those guys, you hear a lot of things. . . To me, being able to go on the road in an environment like that, it’s always fun. It’s always fun. When you’re a little kid and you’re able to play against a really good team and you see their fans and how they are, it’s always fun to go over there and be able to come out with a win.”
The Dolphins' offense will get the worst of the crowd noise, as Bills fans will get loud to support their defense. However, Miami's defense will also have to deal with the noise as well. To Dolphins defenders, though, that noise makes the game more exciting.
“I’m excited, it’s going to be a fun game," safety Jevon Holland said. "Hostile environment, but that makes the game a lot more fun so I’m excited to play.”
At this point, the Dolphins are well accustomed to playing in Buffalo. They visited Highmark Stadium twice last season, once in Week 15 and then just a month later in the Wild Card Round. The Bills may have won both games, but with each win coming by only three points, neither of them came easy.
With both teams looking like some of the league's elite this season, Sunday's game should deliver the goods once again.
