Bills LB Matt Milano Debuts on NFL Top 100 Rankings

Last season, Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano was named to the Pro Bowl and earned First-Team All-Pro honors.

After being vastly underrated the past few seasons, Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano is becoming more of a household name for NFL fans. But amongst his professional peers, it appears that he's hardly been flying under the radar.

That was basically confirmed on Friday, as the NFL revealed its latest section of the Top 100 Players list, a player-voted ranking that has become tradition prior to the start of every season.

Milano landed at No. 69 on the list, which put him ahead of other talented defenders like defensive end Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals (No. 75), cornerback Tariq Woolen of the Seattle Seahawks (No. 76) and safety Budda Baker of the Arizona Cardinals (No. 73).

In March, the Bills and Milano agreed to a two-year extension through the 2026 season in a move that created about $6 million in cap space.

Milano is coming off the best year of his career this past season, as he earned his first-ever Pro Bowl nod after joining in as an injury replacement, though it was his First-Team All-Pro that took the cake.

Based on his production last season, he clearly wasn't bothering settling for the second-team selection. During the regular season, Milano recorded 99 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, 11 passes defended, three interceptions and one pick-six despite not playing the maximum 17 games.

Milano was a fifth-round pick by the Bills in 2017, but has exceeded those expectations significantly. Already one of the primary faces of a talented Buffalo defense, he's now the lone star linebacker on the team with Tremaine Edmunds departing in free agency.
