'Tank' at the Top? Bills Hosting WR Nathaniel Dell for Draft Visit

As the 2023 NFL Draft looms, the Buffalo Bills welcomed in Nathaniel Dell, one of the top incoming receiving prospects, for an official visit.

The Buffalo Bills are Tanking for the draft.

Fans in Western New York can rest assured that the Bills have every intention of contending for the Super Bowl again. This form of Tanking comes in the spring, as the Bills have brought in receiving prospect Nathaniel "Tank" Dell for a "Top 30" visit, per The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler.

The well-traveled Dell, who spent the final three seasons of his five-year collegiate career at Houston (after stints at Alabama A&M and Independence Community College), having earned 2,727 yards and 29 touchdowns over his latter two seasons as a Cougar (leading the nation in the former category with 1,398).

Already blessed with a high stock to the tune of consecutive first-team All-AAC honors, Dell further impressed observers at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., partly warding off concerns that his 163-pound frame would be a liability at the NFL level.

Dell mentioned during the Senior Bowl that he expected to be used as a slot receiver in the NFL but used his time in Mobile to show he's capable in other areas of the field as well.

“I’ve been told I’ll likely play as a slot like I did in college," Dell told Steelers Depot. "I went outside for the 1-on-1s to show I can play outside too, even against press coverage. But in the NFL, I think I’ll primarily be a slot receiver.”

Buffalo has an opening in the slot after receiver Isaiah McKenzie signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. The Bills' first pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, which will be held April 27-29 in Kansas City, lands in the 27th slot.
