Bills S Jordan Poyer Lands in NFL Top 100 Rankings
For the second straight year, Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer was ranked among the NFL elite by his peers.
Poyer landed at No. 57 on the NFL's Top 100 Players list, a ranking that's voted on by the players and has become tradition prior to the start of every season. His teammate, linebacker Matt Milano, was ranked No. 69 on the list.
The Bills safety was ranked ahead of some of the NFL's better defensive backs, including Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay (No. 65), Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker (No. 73), San Francisco 49ers safety Talanoa Hufanga (No. 78), Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen (No. 76), New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (No. 89), and Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphery (No. 92).
Poyer was ranked No. 45 in last year's list and was a First Team All-Pro safety. He made the Pro Bowl last season and signed a two-year $12 million deal in free agency this offseason with Buffalo.
Despite missing five games, Poyer's play was on par with his production in past seasons. He had four interceptions, eight forced fumbles and eight passes defended while adding 67 tackles, four of which were for a loss.
Poyer has been one of the faces of Buffalo's defense since joining the team in 2017. With 22 interceptions in six seasons, he's become one of the best safeties in the NFL since joining the Bills.
If Buffalo's defense is going to remain one of the best in the leaue, Poyer will have to continue to be one of the engines that makes the unit go.
