Bills AFC East News: Odell Beckham Jr. to Jets Heating Up with Aaron Rodgers Bid
Dating back to last season, the Buffalo Bills have been one of the main teams to watch in the race to potentially sign three-time Pro Bowl receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
But now, they're the ones having to do the watching, as Buffalo's AFC East rival New York Jets are heating up their pursuit of the star receiver.
Per reports Saturday from NFL Network, the Jets are set to host OBJ for an in-depth meeting along with having him undergo a physical on Monday. But while the physical shows the team has real interest in signing him, it's even more telling when considering what the two sides are set to discuss.
The Jets are set to have a "thorough discussion" with Beckham about how the potential fit between him and quarterback Aaron Rodgers could work. The Green Bay Packers star and future Hall of Famer is inevitably set to join the team via trade at some point this offseason.
"The Jets long-awaited meeting with WR Odell Beckham Jr will be multi-faceted," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted. "It will include not only a physical but also a thorough discussion of what to expect in an Aaron Rodgers-led offense with a deep WR room. How will it all fit together is a big point of discussion."
New York is now seemingly all in on signing OBJ, assuming his physical goes well. Any hopes from Bills Mafia of potentially adding him to the offense alongside Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen seems lost at this point.
Instead, the Bills could now have to face Rodgers and Beckham Jr. twice a year in divisional matchups that would be as enticing as ever.
