Bills Josh Allen on Stefon Diggs Minicamp Absence: 'I F***** Love Him!'
Despite what last season’s ending might show on the surface, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has made it clear that there's no drama between him and star receiver Stefon Diggs.
Though there was certainly a different kind of drama on Tuesday as Diggs was absent for the start of mandatory minicamp, Allen emphasized previous comments of his, making sure it was his support and love of Diggs that took command of the headlines instead.
"Internally, we’re working on some things," Allen said. "Not football related. But you know Stef. He’s my guy. I f**** love him. He’s a brother of mine.“
Per his agent's report to ESPN, Diggs has reportedly been in Buffalo since Monday and met with both coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane. Diggs will be in Orchard Park "for the entirety of minicamp," but his eventual return to the practice remains a mystery.
Regardless of when Diggs returns - which seems inevitable given his contract extension last offseason and the financial hardships the Bills would have to suffer through if they go through with a highly unlikely attempt to cut or trade him - Allen is still in full support of his No. 1 receiver through whatever it is he might be dealing with.
"We wish he was in here today and was out there on the field with us, and that’s not the case," Allen said. "But I’ve got his back no matter what.”
