NFL Top 100 Players: How Many Bills Make the Cut?

Buffalo Bills' quarterback Josh Allen is the NFL's second-best player, according to a new CBS ranking.

Because the Buffalo Bills have the ammunition, coach Sean McDermott has the pressure.

Over the last two years only the Kansas City Chiefs have won more regular-season games than Buffalo's 24. And to that talented roster, the Bills this offseason added a projected star offensive weapon in rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid and a proven pass-rusher in Leonard Floyd.

CBS is further tightening the screws on McDermott, placing five Bills - including the second-best overall player - on its annual list of the NFL's Top 100 players. A team loaded with four of the top 100 and the league's second-best quarterback should have nothing short of Super Bowl hopes.

Replacing Rams' defensive lineman Aaron Donald (who fell to No. 9), Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes tops CBS' 2023 list. Right behind him is the Bills' Josh Allen at No. 2. Other quarterbacks in the Top 100 are Joe Burrow (3), Justin Herbert (22), Trevor Lawrence (23), Aaron Rodgers (29), Jalen Hurts (31), Lamar Jackson (35) and the Bears' Justin Fields (78).

The Bills placed four players on the list: Allen, receiver Stefon Diggs, pass-rusher Von Miller and safety Micah Hyde. The same four were included on the 2022 list, but Jordan Poyer - who was 78 - fell off this year. Allen was fourth overall a year ago.

Buffalo's ranked players along with CBS' rationale:

2. Josh Allen - The idea that Josh Allen didn't play as well last season as he did in 2021 is off base. His numbers were just as good as he threw 35 touchdown passes and 14 picks. He just was asked to do too much.

20. Stefon Diggs - In his seventh season, Diggs didn't show any signs of slowing down in 2022. He had 108 catches for 13.2 yards per catch, the best average of his three seasons with the Bills.

44. Von Miller - He had eight sacks in his 11 games before his season was cut short by a knee injury. Prior to the injury, he was having an impressive season in his first with the Bills. He might not be ready for the start of the regular season.

73. Micah Hyde - He was limited to two games last season, which really impacted the Buffalo defense. He is such a smart, active player when he's on the field. He is 32, so age is a concern.
